Lexie's version of fe-fi-fo-fum
July 29, 2010
A popular activity at our house is saying the classic "fe-fi-fo-fum, I smell the blood of an english man" and chasing the kids around the house.  The other day Lexie was playing this game with Henry using her version which was "fe-fi-fo-fum, I smell the blood of an english muffin"
Tool Man

Henry passion for tools and fixing things has been growing these past few months, but it hit an all time high tonight when he insisted on sleeping with the Lowe's Home Improvement flyer from this weekend's paper.
Rodeos, Blues, and Country Haircuts
June 07, 2010
Yes, we're having fun in the south!

Lexie was able to stay up late one night while Henry stayed home with the grandparents and the 3 of us went to the Franklin Rodeo!  I have no clue WHY anyone would want to ride an irratable, bucking bull, but it was fun and exicting to watch.  Lexie most enjoyed meeting Miss Rodeo (or the Rodeo Princess if you talk to Lexie) who was all dolled up in her cowgirl attire and riding her horse.

Henry is also enjoying the southern life of tractor riding and country haircuts.  You may ask what a country haircut is...well, Henry can tell you all about his hairdresser Jan who cuts hair our of her farmhouse.  She has chickens running in and out and gives Henry eggs to take home as a parting gift.  Some kids may get ballons after a haircut, but down here you get fresh eggs!

The blues music is great down here and we spent Memorial Day at a park in downtown Nashville listening to Blues.  Malcolm and I also went to a Blues bar one night after going out to dinner to pre-celebrate our anniversary.  The music was great and we even met a New Orleans jazz/blues local legend named Kermit who was in town visting.

And a few months in Nashville is not complate without a visit to the Grand Ole Opry.  While the current Opry home is still water damaged from the flood, they moved their show to the previous Opry home of Ryman Autotorium.  My dad and I enjoyed a great night of country music with Ricky Skaggs, Steve Wariner, Vince Gill, and my favorite Brad Paisley.

Life in Franklin, TN
April 25, 2010

Today marks 1 month that we have been living at Mandy's parents in Franklin, TN, right outside of Nashville.  We are all enjoying southern life, are setlled in and even on a routine!

The kids are quite busy with social activities.  Monday we have storytime at the local Barnes and Nobles bookstore.  Lexie was even able to meet a real ballerina from the Nasville Dance Company who read a children's version of A Midsummers Night Dream.  Tueady Lexie has Gym class, Wednesday Henry has music class, and Thursday Henry has an animal class at the Nashville Zoo (his birthday present from Grammy and Grandpa!)  While the classes are enjoyable for the kids, it's great research for our soon-to-be children's indoor playground named JAM TIME.

Malcolm and I both have "work" days where one persosn takes care of the kids while the other does work for JAM TIME.  We are currently working on our website.  More on JAM TIME later.  We are also just enjoying being together, going on family walks, and planning our life in Boston.

Both kids love spending time with Grammy and Grandpa!  Henry actually just fell asleep while mowing lawn on the tractor with my dad.  When I went over to put him to bed, he sleepy said "no mommy, grandpa!"  Plus Grandpa gives him oreo cookies, so Henry is always by his side.  Lexie loves doing art, reading, and getting her hair done by Grammy.  Both kids LOVE gardening and we officially opened the pool on Friday!

The dogs are having a great time as well, especially since there is a creek in my parents backayrd.

Gramma Sheehy was down here for our 1st 2 weeks here, so the kids enjoyed spending time and getting gifts from her.  She was the 1st of the females in our family to injur themselves this past month. Gramma Sheehy needed to get her arm bandaged up at the hospital since she thougt it was broken.  Luckliy, it was not broken but just her arthritis flaring up.  My Mom broke her foot this past week and now has a neon green cast.  She will find out in 2-weeks if she needs surgery.  And lastly, while vacationing celebrating their wedding anniversary in Cape Verde, Malcolm's mum was hit by a boulder (double the size of a basketball) in her leg when hiking a volcano.  After 26 days of getting out of Cape Verde, flying back home, and numerous surgeries, she was just relased to the rehap facility.  We are all hoping for a full recovery, but poor Caroline!!

Malcolm and my Dad drove Gramma Sheehy back to CT, where my Dad spent a week while Malcolm went to visit his Mum and spend some time with his Dad in NH.  He was also able to view some corporate real estate for JAM TIME spending a couple of days at his sister's place in Boston.

That sums up our past month minus some house drama with our place in LA.  We believe (fingers crossed) that all is on track down, but we pushed our closing date to May7th!  This delay required us to push back our close date on our new MA house to June 15th.  That leaves us another 7-weeks in TN.
